A Dinosaur Book of Woooorld Records premiered at the
Smithsonian’s Discovery Theater for a three week run
starting September 28th and going to October 17th, 1998. The
show became available to schools in January 1999. It brings
together record holding reptiles of the Mesozoic Era. An
Archaeopteryx named Arabela nominated as the most confused,
the smallest (Seeow the Microraptor), the fastest (Gabi
Galimimus) the widest (Shy Kyle the Ankylosaurus), the first
plant eater identified (Thumbs the Iguanodon): Dinosaurs who
all present their reasons for deserving to be in the Book of
World Records. There are 10 creatures in all: 2 very
important themes.
There are always new
discoveries to be made in science!
The record that’s made
today could be broken tomorrow!
“This time around the
Dinorockers look at dinosaurs from the Guiness Book of World
Records perspective. Michele Valeri has won several awards
for her albums about dinosaurs, and here her vocal skills
and guitar playing are used to good effects. The music is
light and bouncy with highly imaginative lyrics. Crepeau
does the lion’s share of the puppet work and it is always
charming. It ranges from simple marionettes to full body
puppets...(and) the final result is that the children in the
audience are constantly focused on the stage, joining in the
songs and audience participation throughout. Can a parent
ask for anything more?”
