Divertimento
in D(inosaur)
Compositions of prehistoric
proportions, arranged for symphony orchestra accompanied by
life-size dinosaur puppets
Dinosaur characters introduce young children to the
orchestra. Mama Maiasaura waxes poetic about the cello.
Crash-Boom-Bam Sam the Triceratops identifies with the
percussion section. Sarah the Saharan Suchomimus hears the
sounds of the Middle East in (of course) an English horn.
The (Ph)lying Pterodactyl brothers need the same wind to
stay airborne that the woodwinds need to stay tuneful. And
the loudest instrument in the orchestra, the trumpet, is
reserved for his majesty, Tyrannosaurus rex.
DinoRock Productions, Inc., an
award-winning children’s theatre company, has been offering
original music and magical puppetry to audiences nationwide
since 1984.
Winning Parent’s Choice® Awards and a Grammy® nomination for
their music and Emmys® for their puppet design along the
way, DinoRock has always prided itself on bringing
fun-filled, interactive, high quality entertainment to
children and families.
Now DinoRock focuses on the symphony orchestra, believing
that the power and grandeur of the orchestra fits well with
the power and grandeur of dinosaurs. DinoRock’s aim is to
make dinosaur-crazed kids into orchestra-loving music fans.
